Characteristics of Racing Area:

The racing area is located in the wide-bodied section of the Indian River Lagoon. ( 1 x 4 mile) on the East side of the Intracoastal waters. It is sheltered from the sea by Hutchinson Island. The area has low power boating traffic as the entire west half of the river requires slow speed due to a manatee zone. Traditionally, there is little to no commercial traffic in our racing area.

What is the Status of Water Quality at the Venue:

The USSCMC is located on the Indian River in Florida, near Jensen Beach, and we have not experienced negative water quality in recent weeks or months. The Florida Oceanographic Society monitors our water quality in conjunction with the Marine Resource Council and the Florida Department of Health. A current report can be viewed here

Water quality can change from day to day depending on the weather and other conditions. Therefore, the ratings are only as good as the point in time of testing, so we continually monitor all reports to ensure our members and event participants are safeguarded.

Venue Parking:

Ample parking is available onsite. Overflow parking is directed next door to the Indian Riverside Park, where Martin County allows 300+ parking spaces. Sailors and equipment drop-off/pick-up is easily accommodated in front of the Sailing Center in the circular driveway for your convenience.

Boat & Trailer storage:

Policies for storing boats and trailers at the USSCMC during regattas:

Short-term storage is free if participating in a regatta at the USSCMC. Participants will be given 10 days of complimentary boat storage for pre-event practice and travel convenience. A boat may be stored up to 7 days before the first day of racing and shall depart no more than 3 days after the last day of racing. Any boat owner wishing for additional storage time must register their boat/trailer with the USSCMC. Boat storage application form

Any storage beyond the Regatta 10-days will be stored at Skipper Shipper in Jensen Beach. Space is minimal and will be allotted on a first to register and pay basis. If you require boat storage, we encourage you to make necessary arrangements directly with a vendor.  Information about Skipper Shipper can be found on their website by clicking here.
