FALL 2016 MIDDLE SCHOOL STEM & SAILING PROGRAM
A RECREATIONAL & EDUCATIONAL SAILING PROGRAM IN HARTLEY SAILBOATS
The STEM program will be implemented as a supplemental activity to grow students’ scientific understanding of sailing.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) activities are hands on science experiments that teach sailing principles.
Open to all students (grades 6-8)
8-WEEK Fall Program
Thursdays; 4:40- 6:40 pm on the following dates:
September 8, 15,22,29 (USSCMC)
Program fee includes
- Sailing Instruction on the water & in classroom
- STEM projects on the water & in classroom
- Program meets whether RAIN or SHINE
Space is limited to 16 students
$160*/person (USSCMC Family Membership)
Participation requirements are as follows: registration with the program, commitment to attend all sessions and a desire to prepare for High School Sailing. Prior sailing experience is NOT required.
8th Grade students may register separately for High School Sailing. The programs are independent of each other.
