The US SAILING Center • Martin County (USSCMC) is a community sailing center offering recreational, competitive and learn-to-sail opportunities for youth and adults of all ages. Membership and lessons are available. USSCMC is one of only three Community Sailing Centers in the United States sanctioned by the US SAILING Association - the national governing body of the sport of sailing.

The US Sailing Center of Martin County is committed to broadening the base of the sport of sailing through dedicated, affordable, community sailing programs for youth and adults, and providing support for the
development of future champions and Olympic racers.
The US SAILING Center • Martin County is a 501(c)3 non-profit community sailing center. We accept donations to support our programs and the facility. Monetary donations can be made and earmarked for scholarships, operations, or capital acquisitions.

New Hobie Wave Fleet Arrives
A new 6-boat Hobie Wave fleet was on the "Wish List" at this year's USSCMC Gala, "Make Your Mark" held on April 24 at the Sailfish Point Yacht Club. During the auction portion of the evening it was mentioned that our goal was to obtain a new fleet of Hobie Waves. Because of the benevolence of the following friends of the Sailing Center, we were able to fulfill that wish! Please thank these folks when you see them around the Sailing Center ... John & Carolyn Hanson (purchased 2 Hobie Waves); Jack & Lisa LeFort, Bill & Kathy Hohns (each purchased one boat); Julie LeFort, Jim & Kim Moir and Don & Sabine Moore (each purchased half boat), Tom & Donna Regan and John & Kathleen Sullivan (each purchased quarter boat). We can't thank you enough!
The boats arrived unassembled, and thanks to a great team of sailors and friends (below), were put together in just a few hours on Thursday, May 27. These boats are fast, fun, simple to rig, simple to sail and are here for your enjoyment ... come prepared to get wet and to have a sailing thrill!

Flying Scot Spinnaker Classes now offered at USSCMC
This could be you!
Our newly refurbished Flying Scots are rigged and ready to sail spinnakers! Spinnakers offer the thrill of colorful, high speed, downwind sailing. In order to use our spinnakers, the skipper and at least one crew must be certified for spinnaker sailing by USSCMC.
Bob Voeller, US SAILING Level 1 Certified and one of our racing club members, will instruct Flying Scot Spinnaker Classes on Sundays from Noon to 4:00pm.
For sailors who feel they are already proficient without a class, Spinnaker Tests will be given by appointment on Sunday mornings. Please call the office to schedule.
